Child Safety
Last updated May 28, 2026. Your Story is designed as a parent-led reading platform for children ages 3-13, with private profiles, parent approval, review workflows, and correction paths before personalized books are released.
Private Child Profiles
Child profiles, uploaded photos, approved portraits, and generated books are private to the family account and authorized operational reviewers.
Release After Review
A book stays locked until child-specific pages are generated, checked, and approved. Children should not see another child, placeholder art, or unfinished pages.
No Child Social Features
The product does not include child-to-child messaging, public child profiles, open posting, public comments, or public discovery of children.
Book Approval Workflow
- 1Parent creates or selects a child profile.
- 2Parent uploads a child photo and confirms they have permission.
- 3The child character render is created for parent approval.
- 4After approval, the first book enters the illustration queue.
- 5Each page can be checked for child likeness, story accuracy, visual safety, and continuity.
- 6Admins can approve or reject individual slides. Rejections require a reason.
- 7Rejected slides return to the renderer or correction queue before release.
- 8The family is notified when the full approved book is ready to read.
Launch Safety Practices
- No targeted advertising to children.
- No public child profile pages.
- No public sharing by default.
- No children creating subscriptions or uploading photos independently.
- No release of books that are still rendering or awaiting review.
- Human review path for child-likeness problems, unsafe images, wrong names, cultural detail issues, or story mismatches.
- Parent correction and deletion request channels.
- Private storage for child images and generated pages.
Report a Safety or Accuracy Concern
If a render looks wrong, unsafe, culturally inaccurate, or mismatched to the child or story, email safety@yourstory.app or use the contact page. Include the account email, child name, story title, slide number, and what needs to be fixed.
Safety policies evolve as the platform grows. We may update generation filters, review requirements, supported content, or release rules to better protect children and families.
